The Annuals Crew Member will be responsible for the annual and tropical plant care and performing general plant maintenance. They will perform manual tasks associated with the outdoor production of annuals and tropical plant material.

Role and Responsibilities

• plant, grow, and maintain annuals
• remove cull stock, weed plants, and other unwanted growth from the annual and tropical area
• irrigate and apply fertilizer to annual and tropical plant material
• train, prune, trim, shear, space, transplant, and cull plants to ensure availability of marketable products
• label, tag, pull, sort and deliver plants by variety
• unload products, materials, and supplies and move products to designated areas as instructed
• other related duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• successful completion of on-the-job training

Preferred Skills and additional notes

• good written and verbal communication skills
• basic knowledge of plants and gardening or an interest in learning about plants
• must be able to work outside in all weather conditions
• prolonged periods of standing, walking, stretching, bending, kneeling, and pulling
• must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at a time
• ability to work weekends and holidays
• ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time
• ability to be a team player, as well as work independently
• ability to multitask and be detail oriented
• maintain a regular, dependable attendance record
• be 17 years of age or older
