Key Responsibilities:
- Sketch, iterate on characters and creature concepts
- Develop detailed concept art and orthographs for 3D artists and animators to implement in to working game assets
- Work closely with other disciplines to define characters and world are both narrative and visually cohesive
- Bring your understanding of human and animal anatomy and know how to stretch the limits while still maintaining a consistent art direction
- They will be expected to take a seed of an idea and flesh out all aspects of the design
- Establish style by creating concept artwork, asset production designs, and graphics visually describing characters.
- Proficient in creating concept arts matching the style of the game or cinematic animation using various 2D, 3D or mixture of techniques
- Use your extensive expertise in concepting for game/film development to ensure the production meets the highest standards of quality, performance, and polish
- Create inspirational storyboards, sketches, layouts, color schemes and great clothing concepts
- Function as part of a fast-paced close-knit team: collaborate with artists and tech to achieve a unified vision for our project
- Support marketing material to inspire viewers to explore the characters and world
Requirements:
- Portfolio or Demo Reel required
- Strong Understanding of proportions, scale, perspective, lighting, color, composition and human anatomy
- Working knowledge of cinematic techniques for storyboarding purposes
- Ability to create stunning imagery that translates well into game play
- Effective collaboration and communication skills
- Able to turn high-level feedback and iterate quickly
- Ability to design and illustrate everything from characters to environments
- Basic understanding of 3D, experience creating designs to be translated into 3D
- Mastery of relevant software packages, such as Photoshop
Ideal Candidate Has:
- At least 5 years in the video game industry, with a focus on characters
- Strong Portfolio demonstrating range of ability
- Strong understanding of mobile gaming
- Skill(s) in other related disciplines – animation, illustration, cinematics
- Must be a driven self starter
- All hires are based upon completion and passage of a background check.
The pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications, prior experience as well as geographic location.
$85,000.00 (entry-level qualifications) to $115,000.00 (highly experienced)
