The Job
As the Assistant Store Manager, you will be responsible for the management and supervision of all areas assigned by the Store Manager and follow policies in regard to Customers, Associates and merchandising. Responsible for learning all phases of Store operations. In the absence of the Store Manager, the Assistant Store Manager is responsible for leading the entire operation of the Store to ensure that Company standards and best practices are consistently met.
In addition, the Assistant Store Manager will need to implement operational systems, coordinate, and evaluate the merchandising, employees, operational, and expense controls for our discount closeout chain. Success depends on your ability to organize all stores, hire, train, and motivate your team in our fast-paced, challenging, and compelling environment.
Requirements:- 1-year Supervisor retail experience.
- Proven ability to lead, coach and build associate relationships.
Physical Demands: Medium to heavy lifting, with ability to lift push and pull up to 20 pounds regularly and 50 pounds with assistance if needed. This may not occur on a daily basis. This job also requires constant standing and walking. The employee must know and follow proper safety protocols; know product loads and spatial relations to effectively and safely stage products for loading. The employee must also be comfortable using a pallet jack.
Responsibilities
- Exceeding operational goals as related to sales, profitability and expenses through implementing systems and processes.
- Sound understanding of store operations and standards for success.
- Supervises and motivates the staff and ensures the timely completion of day-to-day functions
- Sourcing, Recruiting, Selecting, Networking, and developing diverse talent for all stores.
- Managing operational budgets.
- Developing and implementing short- and long-term goals.
- Demonstrated strong analytical, organizational, problem solving, and communication skills with all levels of employees.
- The possibility of travel to support other store locations.
- Other duties as assigned.
