Background & Purpose of the Job
Unilever is in the midst of a project designed to reset the North American supply chain to be future fit. The new network is intended to support >4% annual growth through 2024 by optimizing the manufacturing and distribution networks, be agile and responsive, reduce cost to serve and planet positive.
The Associate Procurement Project Manager - Warehousing will be responsible to coordinating the 7-step strategic procurement process for warehousing solutions to support new nodes for distribution that will be added to the North America logistics network over the next 3 years.
As a key contributor within Procurement to the overall project, this role is visible to other leaders within the organization with heavy focus on Logistics, Customer Service, Finance as well as other key Supply Chain departments.
Who You Are & What You’ll Do
Associate Procurement Project Manager - Warehousing responsibilities:
Collaborate with the project team to define profiles and volumes for future warehousing needs defined by the project team. Designing cost templates to be used during the RFP process to standardize the inputs from 3rd Party Logistics providers while bidding. Consolidating and harmonizing inputs for bid submissions and debrief senior stakeholders on areas of variance in cost proposals for queries and alignment with the 3PLs. Conducting market scans for providers to include in the RFP process for key locations. Benchmarking costs with external providers for to-be scenarios using internal and externally available data sources. Work with the Latin America and Mexico Procurement team to define and implement best practice to North America Procurement for warehousing under local market conditions. Build project schedules for bid events to align with overall project schedules for go live of new warehousing locations. Communicate with senior stakeholders in Customer Operations, Procurement, and the project team on task status, risks, and mitigation actions to ensure operational implementation by go live dates. Support negotiations with 3PLs to extract value using negotiation strategies and tactics. Supporting vetting and onboarding of potential suppliers that would be new to Unilever for the project. Conduct handoffs with the organic Logistics Procurement team on project deliverables during transition to Business-As-Usual activities. Lead the Logistics Project Procurement Plan and take inputs/align with Capex, Business Services and Real Estate Procurement Teams. Spearhead the Competitive Buying initiatives ensuring compliance to the Negotiations Toolkit, Logistics Procurement and Contract Board Governance, Logistics Board and CLM approvals. Work closely with Strategies and Insights team to gain external market intel and support from GAP Partnership (as required)
What You’ll Need To Succeed
Minimum Requirements:

A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university, preferably in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business.

4+ of prior logistics and/or procurement experience, preferably in a Consumer-Packaged Goods company.

The ability to work in a fast-paced business environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability by managing numerous priorities concurrently; organizational and time-management abilities.

Advanced technical skills with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams.
-
Command of the English language with excellent oral and written communication skills.
-
Fluent in Spanish to interact with native Spanish speakers in Latin America.

Strong analytical aptitude with a validated ability to analyze/interpret data, with an emphasis on warehousing cost modeling.

Proven abilities in stakeholder management, with an emphasis on listening and influencing.

Experience working with enterprise level logistics systems, such as a Warehouse Management System is required.

Experience negotiating cost variables with warehousing providers leading to successful outcomes.

Knowledge of key suppliers in the US and Mexico warehousing industry.
Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Business (MBA) or Supply Chain

ASCM/APICS certification in CLTD or CSCP
-
CSCMP SCPro certification
-
Formal negotiation training or experience

SAP, Oracle TMS, JDA WMS, Jaggaer contracting, and PINC YMS experience are preferred
Pay: The pay range for this position is $83,200 to $124,700. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
