Seeking:

National EAP, Inc. is seeking a Licensed Masters Level Clinician to join our Client Services Department. Our ideal candidate is a multitasker who thrives in a fast-paced environment. They are warm, engaging, and have experience conducting intake assessments and providing in the moment support. At National EAP, Inc., we provide concierge-style Employee Assistance to companies across various industries nationwide.

This role will be split between working with our Client Services Department and working as a Clinician delivering short-term, solution-focused EAP counseling to our clients. In the Client Services Department, the Client Services Counselor will work alongside the Client Services Team to assist with intake assessments, crisis counseling, linkage to community resources, case management, and referral services to our clients. In the Clinician role, the counselor will be working with clients directly, virtually and in-person, to provide short-term counseling to clients, as needed. The Counselor will also provide critical incident response (CIR) services to Employees of organizations following tragic events. CIRs may be virtual or in-person.

It is preferential that candidates have experience dealing with workplace crises and be knowledgeable of workplace issues Human Resources face. Work hours are Monday-Friday. One to two evenings per week are required to accommodate counseling sessions for clients who need evening availability.

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct EAP intakes, assessments, and action plans
  • Provide in the moment counseling and support as needed
  • Provide short-term, solution-focused EAP counseling to voluntary clients
  • Provide short-term counseling to mandated clients via our employee turnaround program and coordinate with HR on referral behaviors, attendance, and compliance with Program expectations
  • Coordinate with outside providers including EAP affiliates, medical providers, substance abuse facilities, psychiatric care etc. and provide case monitoring services to clients when appropriate
  • Maintain up-to-date information on all client and organizational activity including managing a small caseload
  • Participate in the development of National EAP Provider and Referral Database
  • Rotate infrequent after hours’ on-call clinical rotation with the rest of the team
  • Other responsibilities assigned as needed

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to provide effective short-term solution focused counseling
  • Knowledge of the EAP field (preferred)
  • Excellent critical thinking, judgement, and decision-making abilities
  • Professional therapeutic boundaries with clients
  • Strong computer and/or technical skills, specifically proficient in MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, and TEAMS
  • Skilled in written and verbal communication with an emphasis on tact and diplomacy
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to handle client relationship management, provide strong client consultative skills, and work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize responsibilities

Education

  • Master’s degree in social work or related counseling field required
  • Licensed in New York required
  • Bilingual Spanish & English Speaking preferred

Working Conditions

  • Work hours are Monday-Friday. One to two evenings per week are required to accommodate counseling sessions for clients who need evening availability.
  • Hybrid workplace. In office days are at Hauppauge location. For remote days, candidate must have a private area with hardwired internet access where they will be able to work from home in an appropriate setting.
