Position Summary: The Director manages the Martin Luther King (MLK), Jr. Scholars Program. This high profile immersive, cohort-based honors program provides selected undergraduate students with necessary knowledge, skills, and relationships to advance social change, with a specific focus on the scholarship of Dr. King built on the foundational understandings of what Dr. King called the three evils of society - anti-racism, poverty, and violence. Through intentional academic and co-curricular programs, the Director will support the learning and development of MLK, Jr. Scholars as they work together to realize Dr. King’s vision at New York University and beyond. Reporting to the Vice President for Student Success, Research and Experience, and working in close partnership with the Senior Associate Vice President for Global Engagement and Inclusive Leadership, the Director is responsible for curriculum development, teaching and assessment, co-curricular experiences, and program operations. The Director collaborates Enrollment Management units including Student Success, the Office of Global Inclusion, Diversity, and Strategic Innovation, faculty, and other campus partners to deliver a high-impact four-year educational and leadership development program. The Director supervises a team of two full-time staff, and graduate assistants, and leads faculty, campus partners, and the advisory board to support the success of the program and its students. Qualifications: Required Education:
Master's Degree

Preferred Education:
Doctoral Degree

Required Experience:
7+ years progressively responsible professional experience working in a university, educational institution, social justice or leadership program; Substantive experience in program or curriculum design; Experience teaching social justice education and experiential programming; Experience managing and supervising professional or student staff.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Strong organizational and research capabilities; Ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment; Ability to set goals and implement strategies for achieving them; Ability to work with diverse students and stakeholders; Demonstrated commitment to advancing social justice and ensuring the success of underrepresented students; Proven ability to work across complex organizations, such as a research university, and lead a diverse stakeholders to achieve key priorities and outcomes.
Additional Information: In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $135,000.00 to USD $185,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
