Miller Brother Staffing Solutions is looking for a Drafting Technician for a busy manufacturer based in Union City Pa.

Position: Drafting Technician
Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm
Salary: 33K-50K based on experience

Reports to: Engineering and Business Manager

POSITION OBJECTIVE
Work directly with design engineers/customers to produce drawings from sketches, existing drawings and electronic images. Communicate on a regular basis with customer base to follow up on all projects. Produce tool paths from drawings in CAM software for CNC routing.

A. Essential Responsibilities a. Calculate tolerance stack-ups to verify design fit up.
b. Design parts based on written and verbal descriptions from design engineers/customers, purchase order specifics and quote
c. Work closely with all departments in the plant to ensure that the drawings correctly convey all information for manufacture and are error free
d. Work from customer supplied drawings, company drawings, descriptions and specifications
e. Use standard drawing guidelines
f. Submit drawings and other submittal information to the customer
g. Communicate on a regular basis with all customers with whom drawings are being supplied
h. Communicate with internal departments regarding project status and approvals
i. Go to production areas to discuss/explain designs
j. Use CAM software to produce tool paths for CNC production

B. Education and Experience a. Degree from a recognized CAD training facility
b. 5 years of experience in drawing/drafting in manufacturing setting

C. Job Knowledge, Skills and Competencies a. Must be able to read, interpret and use drawing standards and customer supplied documents
b. Ability to work with little supervision and capable of self-checking for completeness and accuracy
c. Able to send and receive electronic drawings using email or other web sharing
d. Ability to use the following:
i. AutoCad and other 2D CAD software
ii. Solidworks
iii. Microsoft Office
1. Outlook
2. Word
3. Excel
e. Must be a self-starter and have the ability to contribute in design reviews

E. Physical Demands a. Light physical effort required
b. Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend, and move about the facility
c. When in manufacturing areas, must wear safety glasses, ear plugs and steel toe shoes
