Position: Electrical Engineer

Location : Klang

Contract : Permanent

Company: An Australian based company leading international supplier of steel products and solutions, principally focused on the global building and construction industry.

We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to become part of an Engineering team at our newly opened midstream manufacturing plant in Klang, Malaysia.

As an Electrical Engineer, you will

• Ensure compliance to regulatory and company Occupational Health, Safety and Environment (OHSE) policies, rules and procedures

• Lead, participate in or contribute toward improving OHSE practices

• Deliver key electrical, control and instrumentation upgrades as required to improve safety and operating performance of key plant processes

• Develop scope of work, technical specifications, electrical standards, technical documentation for key electrical, control and instrumentation improvements

• Lead tender management, design review and, installation and commissioning execution.

• Develop maintenance strategies to support continued improvement of equipment reliability & efficiency

• Lead key high level troubleshooting activities, including coaching and development of technician capability.

You will work as a part of multidisciplinary team based at Klang to install significant equipment and introduce strategies for process improvement along with carrying out corrective, preventive and condition monitoring maintenance on electrical, instruments and mentoring junior electrical team members.

Who are we looking for?

As an experienced Electrical Engineer, you will have demonstrated strong technical knowledge of heavy industrial equipment; DC motor control, PLC or DCS, Closed Loop Control, Instrumentation and Power Distribution You will also be skilled in problem solving and reliability improvement, as well as project and shutdown management.

You will also possess the following:

• a degree qualification in electrical engineering.

• experience with Automation systems, PLC, HMI, DCS & SCADA, preference to Siemens’ automation system

• experience with low voltage distribution systems and motor control; and

• strong technical and analytical capability, problem solving and trouble shooting skills.

• experience with variable speed drives and closed-loop control systems will be highly regarded.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Up to RM8,000.00 per month
