Under the direction of a Senior Consultant or Manager, the Consultant II will develop and implement solutions for clients that are either consultative or technical in nature that provide improvements to the client’s business processes and information technology. This role will be focused on development and implementation tasks for Advanced Financial Analytics (AFA) solutions, primarily using the Planful technology. They will be self- managed for short periods and interface regularly with clients and others outside of Wipfli.
Responsibilities:
  • Consults on client implementation projects, focusing on development tasks, including but not limited to: Planful model design, data loading and validation, report/dashboard writing, knowledge transfer and documentation.
  • Develops financial reports based on the developed Planful models.
  • Links the client requirements to standard solutions and service offerings with guidance from senior team members.
  • Oversee smaller segments of work assigned by project managers or other senior team members.
  • Thoroughly documents work with clear explanations to illustrate knowledge of concepts.
  • Informs project team of cost, quality and schedule risks related to the scope of their portion of the engagement.
  • Monitors own time and budget on projects and communicates overages and availability in advance.
  • Keeps current on technical and functional issues and attempts to apply them to client circumstances.
  • Mentors Consultant I’s in their development into Consultant II’s.
  • Helps the sales process by being aware of sales opportunities for add-ons and escalating Information when needed to establish scope of services to aid in solving client needs.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’ of Science Degree in Business or Technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1+ years of work experience in a professional services firm or 3+ years of private industry experience focused on appropriate technical area.
  • Works towards obtaining additional appropriate advanced certifications, as required by Wipfli Technology Partners and Wipfli Management.
  • Knowledge and/or experience working with Finance and/or Accounting departments specific to financial planning, research, reporting, modeling, forecasting, and budgeting, close management, scenario testing, and dealing with multi-currency environments.
  • Competent technical acumen and literacy, with proficient problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills targeted to effectively present information to team and clients.
  • Ability to communicate basic solutions concepts effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years’ experience in a professional services firm or private industry experience focused on accounting, auditing, or financial reporting or research.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • Training, support or consulting advisory experience.
  • Experience with compliance or professional standards associated with area of expertise desired
  • Prior consulting experience; experience at an advanced-financial analysis software company or advanced-financial research partner consulting organization
  • Experience with enterprise planning systems (Planful, Martus, Oracle/Hyperion, Workday/Adaptive, Onestream, Vena Solutions, Anaplan) or financial management applications.

  • Ability to quickly and appropriately responds to unexpected events or changing schedules, demands, and priorities.

  • Ability to get Involved In projects aligned within industries of Interest and select an Industry of focus.
  • Excellent Written, Verbal and Presentation skills
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Visio.

Wipfli supports equal pay for equal work and values each candidate’s unique experiences and skill sets. The estimated pay range for this position is: $60,000 to $95,000. Compensation within the range is determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, individuals' skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications, business needs and applicable employment laws.
Individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, subject to participation rules and based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual and Firm performance.
