The Role

The role is for Head of Operations for our Malaysia based team reporting to the Global Head of Operations. Malaysia is a strategic operations hub supporting the Railsr global business and the operational teams currently based in Malaysia support Transaction Monitoring, Sanctions screening, Payments and Reconciliations.

As head of operations you will be the management lead for driving operational and customer service excellence. You will be responsible for the day to day running of the operations functions and will also work closely with our global People team and be responsible for people initiatives including hiring, compensations, and employee wellbeing.

The role is well suited to candidates with a strong operational focus, risk management awareness, keen understanding of KPIs, and tenacity to overcome obstacles in accomplishing goals. You need to be a strong leader who will develop talent, drive the team to do their best, and be able to influence across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with global functional leads to assist with the day-to-day regional management of the different operations teams
  • Work with global functional leads to define and refine operations activities through constant process improvement.
  • Working closely with the UK based People team to assist with hiring, performance management, and employee wellbeing.
  • Implement and maintain a strong control environment to minimise risk to Railsr and its customers.
  • Managing employee productivity including owning SLA’s and OLA’s

What we look for in your professional skills

  • You will be an experienced leader within operations and customer services, ideally from a Banking or Fintech environment.
  • You must be adept in a multi-cultural business and have had experience working with global functional teams where management of those functions sits outside of your region.
  • You must be hands-on , highly structured, detail oriented and process driven.
  • Be passionate about customer service excellence and proactive customer communications
  • Logical problem solver and critical thinker with a good ability to prioritise projects.
  • Be a self starter with enthusiasm for delivering excellent value for the business.

You must have excellent communication skills (across all media) and possess the ability to ‘get things done’ in a flexible dynamic organisation. Able to work effectively, quickly and with a high level of accuracy in a fast-moving and rapidly changing environment.
