The Health, Safety and Environment Manager
Location: Kapar, Selangor
Salary : up to RM15,000
The manager must have strong OHS&E knowledge and prior demonstrated experience combined with well-developed business acumen that enables him /her to evaluate the existing OHS&E framework and provide robust planning and execution whilst taking into consideration the practicalities and needs of operational activities.
The role will report to the Vice President – HSE Malaysia. This senior position will set, manage, review and monitor HSE strategies and processes for the site and be part of the broader Country HSE team, and respective site management teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the risk mitigation strategies and activities within scope of health, safety and environment for the respective site/business entity.
- Provide safety leadership in ensuring the site meets all OHSE & legal requirements and complies with mandatory Codes of Practice.
- Lead the enhancement of workplace safety culture and safety standards at all-time across all teams.
- Develop and implement the strategy & plans to improve HSE outcomes (system, process & culture).
- Provide site leadership advice & expertise in meeting their OHS&E responsibilities and implementing OHS&E improvements.
- Provide leadership in pursuing improvement in the site’s GHG emission and actions to reduce impacts of climate change.
- Monitor, analyze, report & challenge on key aspects of the businesses OHS&E performance.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field, such Manufacturing Operations, Engineering or Science, or any tertiary qualification in a relevant field
- Demonstrated ability to influence and build trust with a broad internal and external stakeholder base
- Previous experience managing a HSE and risk management portfolio
- Experience completing HSE auditing responsibilities
- Well-developed communication and presentation skills
- Experience leading and managing change where you have had measurable impact
- Proven track records of HSE implementation and achievements at worksite
- Experience in delivery training and coaching at various level, Training, Development, and HSE administration
- Openness to consultation, discovery and flexible solutions
- Enthusiasm for sharing knowledge and developing professional HSE network
- SHO registration from Malaysia’s DOSH (Green Book) preferred but not mandatory
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: Up to RM15,000.00 per month
