The Lamar Advertising Human Resources team is looking for an Administrative Support Specialist with skills in managing a budget, coordinating events, maintaining relationships with vendors, and assisting executive-level professionals.

While the role will be responsible for assisting our Human Resources department, HR experience may be helpful but not required.

A day in the life:

  • Handle all things HR budget such as processing invoices, tracking expenses, and monitoring the health of the department’s spending
  • Manage the employee relocation program
    • This includes processing invoices and communicating closely with current employees undergoing relocation for a new role at Lamar
  • Coordinate department and corporate office community service events
  • Manage Lamar’s established Presidential Scholarship program
  • Facilitate the Corporate Employee Service Award Program and maintain the relationship with our award vendor
  • Assist the Executive Vice President of Human Resources with scheduling, routing phone calls, and developing team-building activities for monthly department meetings
  • Administer the random drug screen process to approximately 75 employees once a quarter

What we’re looking for in you:

Technical Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of administrative support experience
  • Proficiency in Google Calendar and Gmail
  • Must be highly proficient in managing spreadsheets
  • Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets specifically
  • Working knowledge of presentation software
  • Microsoft Powerpoint and Google Slides specifically
  • Hyperfocus on details to compose and proofread written communications effectively

Skill Requirements:

  • Top-notch organizational and time management skills.
  • Comfort in an environment that requires frequent conversation and engagement with varying levels of professionals.
  • Must have high interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. The position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-sufficient, work independently, make educated decisions, and follow through on projects to successful completion.
  • Some analytical ability is required in order to gather and summarize data for reports, find solutions to various administrative problems, and prioritize work.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • The primary work environment is an office.
  • The physical demands for this position include light lifting, seeing (with a focus on reading), sitting more than 50% of the time, talking, and walking.
  • Nights spent traveling, away from home, are less than 10%
