POSITION TITLE: Human Resources Generalist/Recruitment & Retention

REPORTS TO: Director of HR

LEVEL: Non Exempt

VanDuyn Rehabilitation & Nursing Home is seeking to hire an experienced and self-driven Human Resources professional to guide and assist with the functions of Human Resources The HR Generalist/ Recruiter primary function will be responsible for administering all aspects of talent acquisition and to support staffing objectives by recruiting and evaluating job candidates, advising organization leadership on hiring decisions and managing applicants throughout all stages of the hiring process. In addition, this position will be involved in a wide variety of HR functions including but not limited to: on/off-boarding, benefits, training, policy/procedure development and special projects

Responsibilities Include:

  • Internal and external recruiting process including performing pre-employment screening and offer letters,
  • Handle and coordinate employee on-boarding and termination needs
  • Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Handle all administrative tasks for on/off-boarding, new hire orientation, and separations.
  • Participate in developing organizational guidelines and procedures
  • Recommend strategies to motivate and retain employees
  • Analyze training needs to design and enhance employee development including reviewing, tracking, and documenting compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Use judgment and independent thinking to make decisions and focus on problem solving
  • Perform and assist with office administrative duties as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree or Associate Degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent preferred, or equivalant of 4 years in experience
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a human resource recruiter
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have excellent computer proficiency utilizing web based systems and database/HRIS platforms.
  • Experience in a health or human services environment preferred.
  • Ability to multitask, organize and working in a fast paced environment.
