Job description
The Preventative Maintenance Lead will define, plan, and lead all preventative maintenance activities for production and facility equipment at Evergreen Plastics. They will also be tasked with completing capital projects. The successful candidate will be a high energy, self-directed, self-starter with the ability to plan, manage, and complete projects with minimal guidance and supervision. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interface across multiple levels of the organization are a must. The ability to lead and develop a team is essential
- Promote safety as the most important value in all preventative maintenance activities
- Direct work assignments and set priorities for the preventative maintenance team
- Ensure effective and proactive communication of preventative maintenance activities including:
- Preventative maintenance completion rate
- Work order closeout rate
- Continuous improvement of Preventative Maintenance plan
- Identified machine or procedural issues
- Preventative maintenance team cross training matrix
- Manage implementation of preventative maintenance ensuring work is completed promptly, safely, correctly
- Implement 6S culture in preventative maintenance and support areas
- Provide direct “hands on” assistance to employees as needed
- Be the point person for facility equipment including but not limited to: Air compressors, air dryers, chillers, docks, dock doors, boilers, etc.
- Contribute as member of the plant leadership team driving the plant forward in safety, quality, and productivity
- Lean out and automate preventative maintenance plan
- Complete capital projects by creating effective project plans and directing resources toward their completion
- Suggest new capital projects and be part of the capital project planning team
- Develop preventative maintenance team, identify weaknesses in team members, schedule training and classes to improve weaknesses, maintain team cross training matrix, utilize matrix to have proper support on all shifts
- Establish individual performance expectations, conduct regular employee performance reviews, and effectively coach and provide feedback to employees
- Conduct/schedule training for preventative maintenance staff on equipment as necessary
Qualifications and Experience
- 3-5 years of supervisory/leadership experience
- Strong organizational and project management and planning skills
- Working knowledge of and past maintenance experience in electrical (480V/3 phase and 120V power distribution systems), mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems (including automation control, AC and DC drive systems, mechanical drives and systems, PLCs, sensors, and motor controls) and facilities systems
- Working knowledge and previous experience with LOTO, confined space entry, OSHA requirements
- Strong computer skills (MS Office, MS Project, CAD software) & CMMS software (JD Edwards)
- Strong team building and conflict resolution skills
- Working knowledge and previous experience of Lean, Six Sigma, and Total Predictive Maintenance
