Get to know the Team:
The Legal team is responsible for providing, legal, regulatory, compliance, governance and contractual advice to the Grab Business. This position focuses on the Grab Financial Services businesses with particular focus on regulatory matters, contract review and negotiation, and governance matters.

Get to know the Role:
Grab is continuing to expand from its traditional transportation application business into consumer and merchant and financial services. The ideal candidate will have experience in these areas, and in particular in dealing with government regulators and negotiating contracts and governance documentation based on the specific requirements of commercial, payments and financial services businesses.
The day-to-day activities:

• 
  Advising on Malaysian financial services regulatory licensing and compliance across business units, with an emphasis on areas related payments laws, credit card association rules, and advertising, marketing, and consumer protection laws related to such products and services.
• 
  Assisting in the development and maintenance of applicable compliance programs.
• 
  Advising on and drafting applicable provisions of agreements with vendors, customers, partners, and consultants.
• 
  Assisting with applicable litigation and claims involving the group.
• 
  Interfacing as necessary with other business support teams within the group, such as marketing, corporate communications, corporate finance, tax, accounting, and human resources.
• 
  Supporting our local Finance and Treasury team in applying prudential requirements of Grab's Malaysian financial services business.
• 
  Cross-functional work to identify, analyse and mitigate issues related to the introduction of new financial services products and services whilst supporting Grab's regional expansion
• 
  Researching legal issues and drafting memos as appropriate.
• 
  Provide timely, concise and business-focused legal advice on financial services laws and licensing requirements.
• 
  Represent Grab's interests and interface directly with regulatory agencies and external counsel, as appropriate.
• 
  Supports Public Affairs in responding to relevant legislative and regulatory proposals.
• 
  Instruct and manage external advisors and counsels, as necessary.
• 
  Providing legal and regulatory guidance on the products (design and modification), proactively identify associated risks and recommend mitigation strategies, review product user experiences to ensure legal compliance and proper disclosures.
• 
  Working closely with (non-lending/financial services) regional and country legal teams on payments regulation and product design.
• 
  Familiarity with the development and implementation of AML related compliance requirements.
• 
  Supporting inter-department initiatives and devising of legally compliant financial services products.

The must haves:

• 
  Minimum Qualifications
• 
  Solicitor admitted to practice in Malaysia
• 
  Technical Skills
• 
  Corporate and regulatory experience in financial services legal practice.
• 
  Specific experience
• 
  1-3 years in private practice with a recognized law firm in Malaysia.
