JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the nursing home administrator, the primary responsibilities of the Nurse Marketing Liaison are to develop our census through targeted admission goals, and development of referral relationships within the geographic territory. The Nurse Liaison will assist in the coordination of referral to admission conversion process and represent Pines Village community at related events. S/he will initiate dialog with referral sources and maintain positive relationships. Will assist with developing effective relationship-building strategies designed to increase admissions. Effectively assesses patients for appropriateness. S/he must possess the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations; demonstrate effective verbal and written communication, and organizational skills; and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. Leads by example, maintaining a professional work relationship with team members, clients, residents, and their family members. Remains knowledgeable of Residents’, Members’, and Clients’ responsibilities and rights. The Nurse Marketing Liaison is responsible and held accountable for following FellowshipLIFE mission and core values while maintaining and living our philosophy of person directed lifestyle and Fellowship Spirit.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Facilitates appropriate admissions to PV Skilled Nursing department by conducting thorough clinical assessments and educating patients and families about available options.
  • Maintains current knowledge and understanding of payment methodologies, i.e. private insurance, Medicare, managed care, etc.
  • Assists in reviewing patients’ financial eligibility for admission.
  • Assists the Director of Admissions in the coordination of admissions functions to achieve established census and payer mix goals.
  • Establishes and maintains positive relationships with hospital case managers, discharge planners, and social workers.
  • Represent Pines Village at professional meetings, networking opportunities, community organization meetings and events, etc.
  • Compile weekly and monthly reports.
  • Reports to the Nursing Home Administrator as to the current status of for potential admissions, including expectations and goals.
  • Works with Marketing team to bring awareness of PV’s strengths and services into the community at large.

  • Critical Thinking: Fully assesses a situation; thoroughly probing cause-and-effect, potential resources, possible options; and devising plausible solutions/responses that are resident/client-centered and appropriate.
  • Conflict Resolution: Must possess understanding of effective conflict resolution techniques, and demonstrate an ability to work out any personal conflicts with others in a way that is in keeping with the Fellowship Spirit culture.
  • Interpersonal Sensitivity and Communication Skills: The Nurse Marketing Liaison should have a strong ability to communicate with Residents, Members, Clients and team members clearly and respectfully. Answers inquiries, gives direction and provides assistance to potential current and potential Members. Should be able to clearly give feedback and ask for information from others as necessary.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Uses confidentiality and proper chain of command when passing along information, changes, or concerns of Residents, Members and Clients.
  • Maintains a safe, comfortable, and functional work environment by assessing surroundings for potential hazards, encouraging continuous quality improvement.
  • Actively participates in being part of a learning and teaching organization. Willingness to continue to learn and seek improvement. Attends in-service training programs.
  • Responsible for staying abreast of current laws, regulations, policies, procedures and best practices, and adapting to company and industry changes.
  • Accurate, detailed, and dependable, with a commitment to the highest quality of standards.
  • May require occasional evening/weekend work.
  • Fills in for Director of Community Services during vacations, leaves, etc.
  • Responsible for performing other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two years’ experience in healthcare marketing/sales –critical care/sub-acute experience a must.
  • Current and valid Registered or Licensed Professional Nurse license.
  • Results-driven attitude with the ability to follow established strategic direction, increase admissions and contribute to our long-term business growth.
  • Ability to uncover growth opportunities within existing and new markets while maintaining an understanding of how these opportunities fit into established strategic direction.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English in person and over the telephone and the ability to listen attentively with appropriate hearing acuity.
  • Computer skills including MS Office; knowledge of CRM/Contact management systems, helpful.
  • Excellent negotiation, organizational and time management skills.
  • Must project self-confidence, flexibility, tactfulness, and the ability to engage audiences.
  • Ability to respond to and work with a mature resident population, creating a warm, caring and supportive environment for the enjoyment of the on-campus and off campus Members and Clients and to promote this philosophy to all team members.
  • Demonstrated understanding and support of the mission and philosophy of Fellowship Senior Living, Inc.
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile in good working condition and have automobile insurance in accordance with New Jersey laws.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
The Nurse Marketing Liaison functions independently, has flexibility, and demonstrates personal integrity when working effectively with current and potential Residents, families, the team members, and other members of the organization. The Nurse Marketing Liaison may be in contact with individuals who have infectious diseases. The Nurse Marketing Liaison must observe rigid, standardized guidelines to guard against disease, accidents, and other dangers, wearing personal protective equipment when needed. The Nurse Marketing Liaison must use universal precautions in all situations. The Nurse Marketing Liaison may be subject to stressful, uncomfortable, and emotional situations/individuals.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The Nurse Marketing Liaison position requires physical activity and moderate movement throughout the workday in order to perform daily duties. Requires the ability to stand, walk, push, pull, carry, move, bend, kneel, squat, reach, stretch, and lift.
Must be able to operate office equipment (phone, computer, printer, copier, fax machine, etc), and various equipment. These operations must be performed with normal visual range, acuity, color determination, and the ability to distinguish letters and numbers.
