Job Description/ Responsibilities as follows but not limited to :

  • Reporting to Production Manager and Asst. Manufacturing Manager.
  • Leading and coach production teams of Sheet Metal or Welding Fabrication, monitor each production team performance to meet quality, optimum cost, delivery (QCD) and responsiveness requirements.
  • Assist Production Manager and Asst. Manufacturing Manager in manage, improve production shop floor control and layout to enhance production operation flow and efficiency.
  • Daily meeting with MPS team, and lead supervisor to execute production daily plan schedule to meet shipment plan.
  • Leading Production teams to support on ad-hoc plan schedule change and make immediate arrangement in resource & capacity planning upon request by MPS team.
  • Review on Line Balancing, resource and capacity plan by team supervisors with also ensure producitivity, yield, and efficiency meet as per target planned, and prevent from unnecessary overtime arrangement, 4M1E are fully utilization.
  • Ensure Production teams' discipline, attendance, standard operating procedure compliance and good 5s' housekeeping practise are being observed and monitored at all times. Any deviations observed must be corrected immediately.
  • Require to review summary of production daily output data, analyze and work with production supervisor and manufacturing engineer to increase productivity when necessary or target daily output unable to meet.
  • Ensure operation of Production teams comply with departmental & company policies, objectives and SOPs.
  • Identify annual training needs for subordinates/supervisors and submit TNA to HR for training planning. With also, conduct training effectiveness evaluation timely for subordinates who attended training course.
  • Always require to determine short-term and long-term contigency plan and risk assessment to manage and avoid from production disruptions.
  • Require to guide & monitor supervisors to execute and involve in process/sectional improvement, cost savings activitities, quality improvement and waste reduction.
  • Accountable for good housekeeping, 5s' pratise and safe working environment within Production Sectional Area.
  • Ensure supervisor take prompt actions in response to MRR, NCR, 8D and provide technical expertise to them when necessary.
  • Supervise and review manufacturing operation to maximize and productive use of manpower, process and equipment. Develop process improvements to effectively utilize equipment and materials to maximize production process.
  • Carry any other tasks assigned by Production Manager and Asst. Manufacturing Manager.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must posses at least a Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronic/Manufacturing System Engineering.
  • Preferably with at least 5 years of working experience in Manufacturing/Production Operations or equivalent.
  • Experience in sheet metal fabrication work field, having knowledge of laser technology, turret punching, bending, machining, stamping, fastener insertion, welding, wet painting & powder coatings will be advantageous added.
  • Self-discipline, good supervisory and good teamwork spirit.
  • Understand well on Lean Manufacturing concepts & applications to Job field.
  • Required languages: Malay, English, Mandarin
  • Required skills: Analytical and problem solving skills, Time Management, Lean Manufacturing concepts, leadership skills, Shop Floor Management Skill, Tooling Management, Kanban System, Kaizen, Good Written and Oral Communication skills, PowerPoint, Excel & Microsoft Word.
  • Aways interest and proactive in self development and timely explore to latest manufacturing technology and system.
