Job Summary:
This position is a unique opportunity to be a member of a fast paced, highly skilled, collaborative Design/Mechanical Engineering team. This position actively participates in the design, CAD drafting, along with the development of files required to prototype and manufacture all applicable Parabit products.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Create custom mechanical CAD components
- Update existing mechanical CAD drawings
- Create components for our 3-D modeling design tool library, referencing manufacturer s specification using Solidworks
- Use logic, mathematics, reasoning, experimentation, analysis tools, physics, calculus, and written communication skills to analyze and solve complex mechanical designs
- Remain current on leading-edge CAD technology, new materials, manufacturing processes and their potential application to our manufacturing facility
- Maintain file creation and versioning storage specifications
- Document all daily actions by completing, maintaining, and submitting time-logs by project
- Research best materials and design approaches for the development of parts/assemblies
- Develop part/product renderings
- Use company standard K factors while creating accurate solid models
- Create CNC files
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Five (5) plus years experience creating CAD drawing of complex assemblies for sheet metal fabrication
- Capable of performing with a sense of urgency and occasionally changing to a project with increased priority
- Fundamental knowledge of SOLIDWORKS 2010 and up and OnShape
- Ability to hand sketch
- Experience with 3-D printing
- Ability to work independently, as well as, work in a collaborative group setting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related Engineering, Design, and programming software
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Five (5) plus years of related job experience
