Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Job Location: Rialto, CA

About us

M&T specializes in the design and manufacturing of large, complex, mission-critical applications for the spaceflight, aerospace, defense, and commercial end markets. This includes ground support equipment and transporters, containers and enclosures, flight hardware, satellite tooling, and other tooling/fixtures requiring machining, fabrication, assembly, testing, and system integration.

We are currently seeking additional mechanical engineers to take on our customer’s projects from conceptualization through design and manufacturing.

Responsibilities include designing, CAD modeling, drafting, and stress analysis.

Job Responsibilities

• Design work, generating 3D models, submittal of drawings and bills of materials per customer's specifications
• Perform stress analysis and generate technical reports for customers
• Creating operators and maintenance manuals
• Creating engineering quotes and proposals in response to RFQ/RFPs
• Creating design status presentations
• Monitoring and maintaining budget and schedule
• Working as part of a team
• Research materials, parts or new processes to improve manufacturing
• <5% travel

Requirements

• US citizenship required
• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering related field
• Experienced with one or more 3D CAD systems (Creo/ProE or NX preferred)
• Above average communication skills
• Experienced with Microsoft Office
• Must work well with others as a team

Preferred Skills and Experience

• 0-5+ years of professional experience
• Solid understanding of common tooling materials/practices
• Experienced with the ASME Y14.5 standard drafting, GD&T, weld drawings, and tolerance stack up analysis
• Finite Element Analysis (FEMAP, NASTRAN, ANSYS or NX Advance Simulation)
• Welding and machining
• Experience with common manufacturing processes such as welding, machining, assembly, and inspection
• Advanced knowledge/skills in CAD modeling
• 3D printing
• Experience with custom machine design; electromechanical systems, motors, actuators, linear rails, bearings, lifting/rigging, etc.
• Generate detailed design and technical drawings of systems, components, and interfaces
• Reading and interpreting engineering specifications
• PDR/CDR level presentations to internal team and external customers
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Performing design trade studies
