Job Purpose & Scope

Responsible for ensuring engineering & maintenance operation, scheduled preventative maintenance and capital expenditure project are maintained with higher efficient and effective, minimize project & maintenance expenditure especially in expandable items and spare parts, promoting cost conscious among employees, and build up good relationship and communication to relevant departments, with focus to propel engineering efficiency to higher level. Responsible in promoting company values and maintaining safe and healthy working environment.

Key Result Areas

Assist the Manager maintaining highly effective engineering operation and preventative maintenance - Effectively in organizing tasks, preventative maintenance and project works in preventing higher breakdown (Achieving targeted maintenance downtime. Performing high etiquette and determination in assigned assignment) Assist to minimize expenditure and maintenance cost control - Effectively follow up in cost effectiveness and cost saving by reducing un-necessary expenses Human relation and people development - Successfully improving subordinate’s performance, competency, productivity and motivation by consistently provide training and education (Increased subordinates technical skill and performance efficiency) Relationship and communication to relevant departments - Effective inter department coordination and collaboration to improve continuous maintenance efficiency (Increase in maintenance performance efficiency) Maintaining good working environment with Housekeeping and Organizational Health and Safety - Actively promoting high standard in housekeeping, safety and health awareness (Increased workplace hygiene and safety and reduced in workplace frequent injuries and lost time. Ensure and collaborate with all relevant departments and external contractors to practice safety awareness program on legal issues related to health and safety for employees as to maintain workplace and production safety and health. Ensure safety procedures and policies and Emergency Response are fully being briefed and adhere by all relevant personal and external contractors Ensure and monitor all personal and external contractors are applying adequate PPE and proper and approved equipment’s while performing tasks Supervise and ensure all equipment and tools that being used by external contractor are being approved by SIRIM or other certified body in order to avoid any complication of regulatory Timely reporting safety and health issue to immediate superior and prepare report in case of accident or environmental concern Ensure good housekeeping being maintained, practiced and closely being monitored through housekeeping guideline from RI Ensure housekeeping score is above than budgeted as being described 6S (Housekeeping Audit) at maintenance designated areas. Ensure entire machines in operation are well maintained, following safety regulations and good working environment.

Key Responsibilities & Job Content

Responsible to plan, organize, supervise, and follow up engineering and project operation tasks Responsible to plan, organize, supervise and follow up given project & maintenance tasks Supervise and monitor work progress that has been scheduled and provide progress reports to immediate superior Analyze and identify machineries problems through daily inclusive in finding best possible solution Ensure to provide complete and reliable spare part, which needed during planned production time or being scheduled in preventative maintenance and projects Ensure all maintenance checklists and reports are being updated, accurate and reliable Responsible preparing and following up for all countermeasures and troubleshooting activities and being well documented and being kept accordingly Provide constructive solution or suggestion in analyzing root cause of downtime from reoccurring Responsible for arrangement and follow up on work requested by relevant departments after being informed by immediate superior Ensure ISO requirements including procedures and documents are being well maintained and being closely followed up Responsible to ensure expendable items such as tools and spare parts are being used wisely and efficiently Ensure all equipment’s or tools are always being safeguarded in good order and condition Ensure all maintenance personal understand and practice safe handling of all mechanical and electrical equipment’s or tools Responsible promoting cost conscious to subordinates and other relevant departments Timely reporting to immediate superior with regards to subordinates or employee’s welfare, grievance handling and discipline Conduct on job training (OJT) regularly to continuously improving skill and knowledge of subordinates Monitor and suggest in improving performance, competency, productivity and motivation among maintenance personal through continuous discussion, bilateral and counselling Conduct regular meeting with subordinates in creating harmonious relationship between immediate superior and subordinates Identify, plan, and follow up on continuous training and people development and recommend training need analysis (TNA) to immediate superior Maintain good relationship and communication for all relevant departments to gain their cooperation in continual decreasing downtime Provide technical advises to relevant departments for continuous improvement and strengthening preventative maintenance Organize and participate in small group activities (SGA) when needed in optimization of process and machineries and in analyzing root causes Responsible in delivering reliable information to relevant departments on time needed or tools needed if downtime occurs or doing preventative maintenance Responsible in maintaining quality of finished products by maintaining higher capabilities and reliabilities of machineries To undertake all other duties or responsibilities assigned by supervisor/manager.
