Global Merchant Services (GMS) has an excellent opportunity available for an Outbound Merchant Specialist role for Centralized Merchant Team (CMT) for Australia Market. American Express Global Merchant Services manages all aspects of our vitally important merchant relationships. Within this department is the Small Merchant APAC team, which is responsible for delivering a vibrant network by acquiring and retaining more card accepting small merchants and continuing to improve their satisfaction. Adding more Amex accepting merchants to our network is one of the key priorities of GMS and with an aim to drive a superior on-boarding experience.

Purpose of the Role:
We are an outbound based team that manages all aspects of our vitally important merchant relationships, along with cross selling products and services that add value to our customers. An exciting and varied opportunity is now available for highly ambitious achievers to engage with American Express merchants based in Australia by building relationships through high value and impactful conversations.

We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate with strong customer focus with excellent communication skill.

Key Responsibilities:

• To make outbound calls in English to an existing base of American Express small business merchants in Australia, supporting ongoing marketing campaigns, promoting card acceptance and increase merchant activation.
• Using consultative approach to maintain / continue building strong partnership with existing American Express merchants.
• Self-motivator with a strong work ethic and ability to plan well
• Good Negotiation Skills
• Deliver the best-in-class merchant experience through relationship building
• Ability to communicate creatively and confidently using quantitative data and analytics.
• Creative out of the box thinker.
• Great team player with a passion to exceed personal targets.

Qualifications

• Advanced English - both verbal and written, Cantonese and/or Mandarin highly desirable
• Strong people serve people experience with a clear understanding of what excellence means
• Candidates with 1 to 5 years of banking or insurance work experience or business development/sales experience or a successful telephone based planning, execution and business development experience are highly encouraged to apply
• Malaysian Citizen or a Talent Pass - Residence holder.
