Fayetteville, North Carolina Surgical Services Nursing Days (United States of America) Assumes clinical supervision for maintaining the perioperative standards of patient care for a defined patient population. Represents OR management and acts as liaison between nursing, the OR staff and surgeons on the team and other hospital departments. Requires progressive experience of at least 1 year in operating room nursing. Experience in circulating duties. Knowledge base of case set up and ability to assist surgical technologist with set up and equipment. Must have the ability to organize systems and people. Able to read, write, and speak English. Is knowledgeable of age specific physiological/psychosocial/developmental/spiritual needs of patients typically served. Job requires having a working knowledge of OR routines, a wide variety of equipment, medication, and procedures specific to surgical areas of responsibility. Certified or seeking AORN certification is a plus. Completion of a basic management program is desirableWork requires long periods of standing and walking and occasional assistance with heavy lifting. Long periods of sitting. Verbal abilities for communication of patient needs. Visual/auditory acuity needed.
