Job description
The contract specialist, with guidance, will support contract management initiatives in their assigned region, including contract support of payor related initiatives, drafting of contracting related communication and support, processing, loading, and maintaining of contract management workflows across the organization. This role will serve as a liaison to various internal departments to facilitate and/or resolve issues associated with claims, provider configuration, customer service, credentialing, and other related matters.Benefits:

- Supports contracting projects and efforts in assigned region.
- Process, load, and maintain contracts in assigned region in contracting database application.
- Engage in specialty provider recruitment efforts to support network adequacy requirements.
- Coordinate contracts and amendments in need of review with Contract Manager
- Draft contract related documents outlining contractual terms as directed.
- Draft provider terminations and other provider correspondences as directed.
- Initiate alerts for adds, terms, and changes to internal departments for claims and referral system updates, health plan submissions, and member outreach as needed.
- Provide clarification on contractual arrangements to internal departments, payors and/or billing companies.
- Acts as liaison with various internal departments to facilitate and resolve claims, provider configuration, customer service, credentialing, and other related issues.
- Follows up on status for return of signed contracts, amendments and credentialing related documents when needed.
- Provides administrative/project support to Contract Administrator and Contract Manager
- Provides status updates as requested and other duties as assigned.
- Track and document tasks to completion
- High School Diploma and Associates Degree or equivalent experience required.
- Three (3) years of contracting experience in a managed care or a healthcare related environment preferred.
- Knowledge of Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid lines of business/insurance products
- Knowledge of contracting workflow and terminology
- Willingness to be part of a team environment and collaborate.
- Willingness to learn and grow the role.
