Position Summary
Summary:
The Perioperative Assistant identifies, processes (cleans and decontaminates) and distributes patient care equipment in the Sterile Processing Department (SPD). He/she operates required equipment, communicates by telephone to user departments, performs decontamination activities of patient care equipment as directed by the manufacturer’s instructions for use (IFU’s). The Perioperative Assistant makes designated rounds to user departments throughout the organization to collect patient care equipment.
