As a part of Optum, the largest network of medical groups in the country, The Polyclinic is seeking a Part-Time General Surgery Physician Assistant to join our team in Seattle, Washington. You will work alongside a cohesive and well-established group of three General Surgeons, two Colorectal Surgeons, and one Breast Surgeon. As a Physician Assistant, you will be mainly based in clinic, approximately two to three days a week.

Position Highlights:

  • 3-Day work week
  • Majority clinic-based, with some surgical assist
  • Primarily work in General Surgery and ADP clinic

Physician Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Seeing new consults when the designated surgeon is otherwise unavailable.
  • Seeing post-operative patients.
  • Evaluating and treating acute outpatient general surgery issues, such as abscesses and thrombosed hemorrhoids. More elective, minor procedures would be evaluated by the PA as new consults and then scheduled for procedure room appointments with a designated surgeon.
  • Helping to answer inbox questions either from other providers or patients (telephone and mychart encounters). Coordinating with front and back-office staff regarding patient messages and referrals.
  • Participating in and potentially running ADP clinic with Dr. De La Ossa as a mentor.
  • Coordinating care and performing telemedicine consults (when appropriate) for peritoneal dialysis catheter and portacatheter patients for Dr. Hackerman.

Required Qualifications:

  • Unrestricted WA State Medical License
  • Current WA DEA certificate required prior to start date

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest or Experience in Anal Dysplasia
  • 1+ Years Experience as a Surgical Physician Assistant

Washington Residents Only: The salary range for Washington residents is $85,000 to $167,300. Salary Range is defined as total cash compensation at target. The actual range and pay mix of base and bonus is variable based upon experience and metric achievement.
