Job description
PURPOSE
- This position is established to manage production planning and scheduling for Finished goods by product category with focus on supplying goods to the Customers at a time requested by the Customer and at a quantity specified by the Customer. He/She will maintain high delivery performance with a minimal overdues which in turn brings about a high service level standards to all customers.
Key responsibilities
SHE
- To adhere to Weir Safety Standard at all times and join weekly safety walk as when required.
- Support company SHE policy to help deliver cultural development and sustained continual improvement in performance.
- Works on driving the team with a Safety & Continuous Improvement mind set.
Production Planning
- Manufacturing planning based on inventory on hand, current and future demand.
- Accountable for planning from Raw Material to Finish Goods.
- Materials planning to support production runs and safety stocks.
- Highlight total plant capacity constraints and impact on order fulfillment.
- Anticipating and highlighting future supply issues for both FG and raw materials.
- Joint responsibility with Operations on Plan Adherence and DOT by products.
- To chair weekly commitment meetings with Operations and Customer Service teams.
- Issuance of Materials Plans, Production Plans, Work Orders and Closure – Weekly.
- Involvement with WMM on New Product Development and launches.
- Ensure accurate reports are submitted in a timely manner, e.g. daily production figures, monthly reports, etc.
- Participate in and ensure accurate stock takes are carried out as required.
- Accountable for the following UBS system applications
- Ensuring BOM and Routing documents are printed and distributed according to the schedule.
- Overseeing of the work order completion.
- Involvement in WMM’s S&OP
SAP Improvement
- Advice SAP end users on support issues, best practice process and transaction use
- Raise incident and provide input to COA team on troubleshooting process and usage issues
- Sprint - Work with SCRUM Master, LPOs and GPOs on implementing continuous improvements
- Identify processes and transactional inefficiencies
- Participate in User Acceptance Test (UAT)
- Request for Change (RFC) – responsible to fill up relevant information (Change Description and Business Justification)
Knowledge/ experience/ skills required
- At least 2- 4 years experience in production planning in automotive or metal industries or rubber industries
- Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in relevant field.
- High level of commercial apprenticeship with additional understanding for technical requirements or high level of technical apprenticeship with advanced level of BA understanding
- Comfortable working in a team environment with a Customer Focus approach and aptitude for continuous improvement in serving internal and external customers.
- Required skills. SAP – PP Module is a must, Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc).
- Able to work effectively with other teams and interact with variety of associates of varying levels of responsibility and functional expertise.
- Communication skills to develop and articulate (written and verbal) data.
- Dedicated to providing exceptional client service and customer satisfaction while maintaining a high degree of professionalism and integrity.
- Information technology "savvy" is a plus.
