Industry: Leading international supplier of steel products and solutions, principally focused on the global building and construction industry.

Salary: up to RM8,000

The Procurement Specialist is responsible to source technical related procurement for industrial operations and capex projects.

Responsibilities

• To develop and implement strategy for respective category
• Supplier relationship management
• Contract negotiation, management & compliance
• Increase contracted spend vs uncontracted spend
• Cost optimization and savings
• Analyze, monitor and manage material cost drivers, key input cost, index movements, market trends
• Develop, implement, and maintain risk mitigation plan
• Monitor changes in legal requirement for import, storage, transportation or handling of respective category
• Improve sustainable and environmentally friendly sourcing
• To conduct supplier audits
• Verify and approve purchasing price of respective material with procurement operations team
• Understand all major capital projects and deliver solutions in procuring it right for the business
• To be able to source right suppliers or vendors with sufficient capabilities required. Supplier/vendor development for key expertise.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering (preferably with Honors).
• Minimum 5 years experience in Procuring and Contracting Major Capital Expenditure projects as well As Maintenance and Repair expenditure
• Procurement & supply chain professional certificate
• Procurement experience in foreign invested Manufacturing company
• Proven strategic sourcing experience
• Proven category management experience
• Ability to articulate any procurement position and secure best win for the business
• Ability and willingness to learn company processes as background in negotiating and procuring.

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: Up to RM8,000.00 per month
