The Liquid Bulk Product Engineer is responsible for the technical aspects of industrial grade Liquid Bulk Customer Engineering Products and is responsible to maintain and improve the Liquid Bulk Standard Product Line. Products include standardized equipment for industrial grade LIN/LOX/LAR Customer Engineering projects in North America.

Job Description

Dimensions:

  • Geographical Scope: North America
  • Scope of Engineering & Technical Support: equipment for industrial grade LIN/LOX/LAR Customer Engineering projects in North America. Scope for technical support includes new project installations, new asset purchases, and tank and vaporizer rehabs.
  • Products: gaseous and liquid nitrogen, oxygen, and argon.
  • Equipment & Process Technologies: Cryogenic liquid & gaseous storage, vaporization, and supply systems
  • Reports to: CE Product Engineering Manager
  • Functional interaction with: CE Product Engineering team (Liquid Bulk, UHP and Micro Bulk Engineering), CE Asset team, CE Work Process Team, CE Project/Maintenance/Construction teams in the North, South, West, and Canada Regions.
  • 5% -10% Travel

Responsibilities:

  • This position will own the industrial grade LIN/LOX/LAR liquid bulk supply equipment: shop fabricated cryogenic storage tanks, ambient product and pressure build vaporizers, ambient vaporizer switching manifolds, pressure/temperature control manifolds, LIN/LOX/LAR PFO kits, and some specialized control panels.
  • Manage and maintain the equipment standards, specifications, BOMs, and QC plans for specific Products developed by and owned by the team
  • Support the CE Asset Team with tank and vaporizer rehabs.
  • Development of new products as required by business and customer needs
  • Develop product documentation packages and maintain revision control via Open Text
  • Participate in troubleshooting and Quality management issues as needed
  • Establish and maintain supplier relationships enabling product development and management. Identify and qualify new suppliers as needed.
  • Participate in group level CI events to identify and leverage system work process improvements and cost reductions
  • Provide technical support to the CE Project Engineering teams
  • Develop and implement annual productivity objectives

Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience
  • Strong understanding of cryogenic tank designs, cryogenic component selection, ancillary support equipment, and liquid bulk installations
  • Understanding of customer applications of products
  • Understanding of supplier base
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes of products
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • High ethical standards - unwilling to compromise on worker safety and regulatory compliance requirements
  • B.S. Mechanical Engineering (preferred) or B.S. Chemical Engineering
  • Experience with Solid Works (or another 3D modelling program) a plus
  • Knowledge of PHAs, UltraFlo, Open Text, Microsoft Office, Sharepoint, SAP
  • Experience with Air Products PDMs and Safety Relief Valve calculations and/or willingness to learn
