Job Summary:
The Property Tax Manager is responsible for managing a team of 2 property tax analysts and the payment process of real estate and business personal property tax bills, the payment log and all physical and electronic mail. This position is also responsible for preparation and filing business personal property returns/renditions annually for each applicable jurisdiction in a timely manner. Will also be the primary contact for all business personal property audits with local and/or state jurisdictions. Responsible for ensuring proper functioning of the department through direct oversight and development, implementation and monitoring of processes, policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting plus minimum 5 years of real estate and business personal property taxes, manager and accounting experience, preferably in the real estate/hospitality
  • Experience with preparing for business personal property tax audits
  • Experience with working with business personal property tax auditors
  • Experience with preparing and defending challenges to business personal
  • Strong leadership, coordination and coaching
  • Requires extensive knowledge of real estate and business personal property, including due dates
  • Requires thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting
  • Experience applying business process improvement, cost reduction and efficiency programs

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Adhere to the policies outlined in the Aimbridge Employee
  • Responsible for the financial and operating performance of the Aimbridge Tax department and preparation of annual goals, objectives and strategies for the
  • Coordinate third-party tax service providers including preparers, filers, auditors, and technology vendors. Liaise with tax counsel, as needed.
  • Coordinate with outside tax advisors to ensure accurate / quality control, efficient and timely preparation and submittal of tax filings; mitigate instances of penalties and punitive assessments due to mistakes or late
  • Establish and monitor adherence to financial controls including segregation of
  • Monitor Tax activity and resolve
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures and systems of internal control for each Tax
  • Department functional area and corresponding
  • Responsible for implementation and adherence to Aimbridge document management and retention
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops or classes; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks, participating in professional
  • Preparation of state, local and special tax returns and processing of payments and filing.
  • Continual analysis on new local tax laws to minimize tax liabilities while assuring compliance.
