Quality Engineering Intern
Job description
General Dynamics OTS Marion, IL is looking for a hard-working college student or graduate specializing in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Design or Chemical Engineering to work as an Engineering Intern. You will assist with projects and gain hands on experience in the Engineering field. You will also develop project management skills, including the documentation of data in appropriate manners and locations that allows a continuing legacy of fellowship. We hope to also develop interpersonal skills needed to function as a team member while also working with other departments within the facility.
Major Position Responsibilities:- Support failure investigations and data analysis.
- Assist with developing, editing and modifying drawings.
- Document continuous improvement projects in collecting photographs, before and after conditions pertaining to improvements.
- Assist by editing existing procedures and improving document and forms by setting up electronic templates to reduce printing forms and physically handling paper.
- Assist with searching, identifying and contacting vendors when developing specialized processes for inspection.
- Assist with developing Scope of Work, obtaining competitive quotes, collecting and summarizing costs.
- Intern will gain experience working with Engineers, Supervisors, and Managers to provide detailed instructions and direction. Training will also be focused on real experience to develop the individual in his/her field of pursuit.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
Must be able to communicate effectively and be proficient with MS Office and associated programs. Effectively utilization of Drafting & Modeling programs when needed if applicable.
Education/Experience:
- Currently completing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Junior or above) or college graduate.
- Currently completing an Associated degree in a Technical Field (Freshman or above)
- Due to BAFTE and ITAR regulations, candidates must be a US person.
- Prior work experience in an industrial environment is an advantage.
