A critical part of your role as a Customer Service Benefits Specialist will be offering your healthcare benefit expertise with compassion, empathy, and sensitivity to assist our customers in resolving their complex healthcare issues. You will be responsible for answering and handling inbound calls from our customers, making outbound calls for outreach projects, or supporting outbound appointment calls to our customers. You are responsible for listening intently to their situation to be sure you gather the information needed to obtain an accurate resolution and document in our case management tool for tracking and recordkeeping purposes. This is a remote position and requires you bring your own device (BYOD).

salary: $17 per hour

Responsibilities

Handle incoming complex calls offering compassion and empathy while using exceptional listening skills to identify the customer’s needs

Resolve or record customer needs or concerns related to:

clarification and education on general or specific benefit plans or programs, delay or denial of treatment , accuracy of claim processing, prescription access issues, cheduling customer appointments with healthcare providers, facilitate obtaining customer’s medical records -or- Payroll premiums, Coinsurance, Copays, Deductible, Out of Pocket expenses related to upcoming medical services depending on your team.

Document all inbound calls and summarize calls in the case management system

Participate in ongoing, extensive health care training, ranging from basic health care terminology to advanced procedure claims processing

Maintain understanding of trained topics and processes

Adapt to and implement ongoing training as the company grows and develops in the health care consumerism industry

The essential functions of this role include:
