Who You Are and What You'll Do
As Regulatory Affairs Sr. Specialist, you will be responsible to lead end-to-end Raw Materials Compliance for the US to create, grow and protect the business. This role will provide YOU the opportunity to work with fast-paced businesses to progress YOUR career. Some of the responsibilities are as follows:
  • Regulatory review of raw materials and ingredients across multiple brands: i.e., US regulatory compliance, allergens, GRAS, impurities, GMO, BSE/TSE, etc. to ensure all regulatory and safety requirements are met, as appropriate to the product classification (e.g., Dietary Supplement, Foods)
  • Develop/synergize overall raw material strategy with multiple brands to ensure regulatory compliance and to support product launches/product lifecycle.
  • Compiles and maintains up-to-date Raw Material documentation through the entire product life cycle, from product development/formulation to post market changes, while keeping business partners informed of potential impact to product supply/availability.
  • Supports Raw Material Qualification and Safety Assessments in collaboration with internal and external partners.
  • Partner with other functions like R&D, quality, legal and supply chain to ensure timely regulatory deliveries.
  • Provide regulatory guidance, end to end regulatory strategy, risk assessment, and management throughout the product lifecycle: New Product Development and Commercial projects.
  • Provide content/input to R&D to establish corporate level qualified ingredient database accessible by multiple brands.
  • Work with in-house and external legal counsel to resolve product compliance conflicts, and other issues when ambiguity exists in the regulations by applying risk management principles to ensure consumer and brand protection.
  • Monitor, interpret and validate current and changing regulatory legislation and share potential impact these activities may have on the innovation/ product maintenance.
  • Participate in external policy and advocacy to create, grow, and protect the business. Represent company on appropriate forums.
  • Maintains an open channel for communication between various stakeholders.
  • Maintain specialized product category knowledge.
What You'll Need to Succeed
  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in regulatory affairs, Food science & Technology, Nutrition, Medical sciences, biochemistry etc.; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required.
  • 5+ years of direct US dietary supplements & Foods experience. OTC & other Consumer Healthcare regulatory experience would be considered.
  • Experience on Dietary Ingredients assessment and requirements (e.g. Old Dietary Ingredients (Pre-DSHEA), GRAS, New Dietary Ingredients, etc.)
  • Practical knowledge and experience on FDA Dietary Supplements and Food regulatory framework and applicable laws and regulations, as well as of cGMP standards.
  • Veeva RegulatoryOne experience is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, , project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as internal and external stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting
Pay: The pay range for this position is $83,200 to $124,700 Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs. Bonus: This position is bonus eligible. Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible. Benefits: Unilever employees are eligible to participate in our benefits plan.
