Description:Our Mission Solutions Enterprise Operations and Sustainment team is seeking a Sr. Site Manager to lead the Payload Launch Site Support Services (PLSSS) team at Vandenberg Space Force Base (VSFB), CA. The PLSSS Program provides all launch processing support functions for the Office of Space Launch (OSL). Key elements of the PLSSS program include satellite launch processing, transportation operations, propellant loading operations, and processing facilities O&M.

Summary of Key Duties for this position:
  • The position is deployed to the PLSSS Program Manager (PM) and badged to Florida/VSFB Operations Director (both reside in Florida). The position is a member of the PLSSS Senior Leadership Team where you will be expected to make large programmatic decisions and occasionally act on behalf of the PLSSS PM.
  • Demonstrate Full Spectrum Leadership imperatives: Shaping the Future, Building Effective Relationships, Energizing the Team, Delivering Results and Modeling Personal Excellence, Integrity and Accountability
  • You will lead a team of ~210 employees and be responsible for all PLSSS activities associated with launching missions in support of OSL activities.
  • Responsible for employee performance management, salary adjustments, promotions, personal development plans, training, disciplinary actions and terminations.
  • Responsible for all aspects of attracting, retaining, motivating and developing employees.
  • You will also be responsible for overseeing select activities in support of Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS) launch processing of customer's spacecraft.
  • Due to the integrated nature of this contract, you will work very closely with CCSFS PLSSS Site Manager to foster enterprise cohesion as we drive to a unified PLSSS team.
  • You are expected to utilize and share resources across the PLSSS program, Assembly Test and Launch Operations (ATLO) and the corporation to ensure continued exceptional performance and mission success for our nation's most valuable assets.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be a US citizen and possess an elevated clearance (TS/SCI) for access to classified information prior to start.
  • Appropriate degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education
  • Willing and able to Travel.
  • Demonstrated experience in communicating effectively with internal and external customers in a customer interactive intense environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate to a positive outcome with multiple stakeholders to ensure the following:
  • Flawless and efficient operations.
  • Leading and understanding of government
acquisition processes.
  • Driving a culture of collaboration, innovation, and
continuous process improvements across multiple
sites.
  • Successfully managing budgets related to labor,
material, subcontracts, and program management
tasks.
  • Successfully performing Program Management
directed tasks in a timely and exacting manner.
Desired Skills:
  • Change agent in implementing methods to reduce cost of existing processes and equipment.
  • Effective working relations with represented employees
  • Familiarity with system development, facility engineering, integration, operations, sustainment, or launch processing experience.
  • Experienced in Earned Value Management (EVM) and Control Account Management.
  • Familiarity with near/long-term planning and scheduling.
  • Familiarity with Supply Chain Management.
  • Familiarity with Cost Plus and Fixed Price Contracts.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California or New York City is $161,500 - $304,300. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
