Incumbent will perform duties as a Sterile Processing Technician under the direction of the SPD Manager to include: decontamination and/or processing of equipment and instrumentation, and distribution of supplies or equipment within the Santa Monica Surgery Center. Other major duties include, but are not limited to, customer service and departmental efficiencies. Assignments are given according to organizational goals. Goal attainment is reviewed on an as needed basis within the UCLA Health System Santa Monica Surgery Center. Salary range: $24.18-$28.89 Hourly

We’re seeking a highly-skilled, self-motivated professional with: * A working knowledge of aseptic technique, the sterile field and the principle of the Operating Room decontamination is required. * Ability to demonstrate proper maintenance and cleaning of surgical instruments. * Ability to demonstrate the correct use of autoclaves. * Ability to demonstrate proper decontamination techniques. * Working knowledge of bacteriology and medical terminology. * Ability to handle heavy carts. Ability to stand for long periods of time * Skills to collect and relay information accurately. * Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain cooperative working relationship with all levels of staff. Oral and written knowledge of the English language. * Preferred: CRCST
