Lead Engineer, Technical Services – Configuration Management

Immediate superior – Technical Services Manager

1. Main responsibilities
Supervising the overall effectiveness and efficiencies of the Configuration Management Section within the Technical Services Department.

2. Qualifications:
a. Minimum of bachelor’s degree in engineering disciplines (BSc or BEng) from recognized institutions, and
b. Minimum 5 years of working experience in aircraft engineering with an airline or MRO.

3. Specific functions:

a. Ensure the departmental system within Configuration Management Section complies with CAAM rules and regulations, and owner/operator policies.
b. Verify the adequacy of the section to meet the requirements of the QA department and owner/operator.
c. Supervising the technical support regarding continuing airworthiness, operational and procedures within the section.
d. Supervising the liaison with manufacturers, suppliers, aviation authority or any reliable sources to facilitate analysis of engineering issues within the section.
e. Verify the effectiveness and efficiency of the departmental procedures within the section.
f. Supervising the liaison with the owner/operator on matters (within section) related to continuing airworthiness, interpretation of regulations, policies, procedures, and maintenance of certification data and certification checklist.
g. Supervising the research on product improvement and defect mitigation.
h. Prepare and raise required technical documents in accordance with approved procedures, regulatory requirements, and owner/operator requirements.
i. Responsible for aircraft parts verification and interchangeability confirmation.
j. Manage and control data pertaining to aircraft specification and configuration.
k. Perform reporting back to Aircraft Manufacturer for SB’s that have been accomplished on aircraft.
l. Support the build-up of Used Aircraft Report (UAR).
m. Manage and control of aircraft applicability list and aircraft modifications, retrofit reports, and maintenance management report.
n. Chairman of EO Review Meeting.

o. Liaise with manufacturers, suppliers, aviation authority or any reliable sources to facilitate analysis of engineering issues.
