Application Engineer (mechanical)
Job description
The LFS Group is looking for an Application Engineer! The Application Engineer will be responsible for using the theoretical and practical design information of expansion joints and applying it to the sales and project work of the USA business. This role will be involving a variety of design and applications engineering functions. This position needs at least six months of travel to sites across USA for training.
Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
Site work: Initial six months requires onsite travel to gain Engineering knowledge about product and services
· Site inspection. *
· Preparing detailed reports of site visits and technical issues.
Sales and applications engineering.*
· Maintaining relationship with customers.*
· Preparation of quotations.*
· Preparation of outline CAE drawings.*
· Assisting in marketing and sales activities.*
Applications and project engineering.*
· Assisting in preparation of project plans.*
· Attending project meetings and customer reviews.*
· Involvement in detailed technical discussion & preparing technical specifications.*
· Checking and Approving Engineering Drawings.*
· Order processing and workshop management.*
General duties.*
· Use of IT equipment to perform general office duties.*
· Willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed.*
· Travel within USA on regular basis and overseas occasionally.*
Performs other duties as assigned.

Language Ability:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word, Excel, CAD, EARNIE, CRM and PowerPoint.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A. / B. S.) from four-year college or university; and less than one year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Mechanical Engineering Qualification.
Certificates and Licenses:
Valid Drivers' License
Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:
· Knowledge and experience, with ability to learn new technology field.
· Excellent communication and presentation skills are critical
· A working knowledge of gas or pipe systems involving flow calculation would be an advantage
· Mechanical design knowledge and good familiarity with CAE tools
