The Role
As an automotive engineer at Bufori, you will be responsible for bringing ideas to life. As part of a team, you will, among many other things, be designing, testing and improving automotive components. You will also be assigned specific projects to manage, which requires commercial awareness and organisational skills. From time to time, these projects could also be non-automotive related, but nonetheless rewarding. Expect a dynamic environment with quick decision making. A pro-active and “hands-on” attitude is expected, as a great portion of the time will be spent on the factory floor, collaborating with the production team.
Requirements
- Degree Holder.
- A strong interest in motor vehicle engineering and design.
- Excellent technical/mechanical knowledge.
- Excellent mathematical skills.
- Good knowledge of CAD engineering tools.
- Knowledge of 3D printing is a bonus.
- Ability to analyse and interpret data.
- “Hands-on” attitude – a lot of time will be spent in the factory.
- A creative approach to problem solving.
- Commercial awareness.
- Excellent organizational, time management and planning skills.
- Excellent Communication skills.
- Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia. Other languages are a bonus.
- High level of integrity, responsibility, initiative, team spirit, drive and commitment.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Mission
Work closely with the engineering & production team to design, improve and test automotive components and systems. Manage specific projects.
Job Description
Typical duties of this all encompassing role will include:
- Solve specific engineering problems, develop ideas and produce designs.
- Create technical drawings using CAD software.
- Build/3D print prototypes of components and test their performance, weakness and safety.
- Conduct and document automotive testing.
- Investigate and resolve mechanical failures, defects and problems.
- Create, implement and continuously improve manufacturing SOPs.
- Liaise with suppliers to define and source parts.
- Manage various automotive projects including budgets, schedules, resources and staff.
- Occasionally manage non-automotive projects.
- Any other automotive engineering tasks.
- Work is carried out both in an office and the manufacturing plant.
- Occasional housekeeping.
Required Experience
Minimum 3 years working experience in automotive design, development and production.
