Summary

The Compliance Registrations Specialist will support the Gas Revenue and Compliance team with key responsibilities focusing on supporting environmental attribute generation protocols via RFS facility registration. This position will also assist in maintaining RFS recordkeeping requirements for facilities participating in the RFS program. This position will develop an understanding of technical laws and regulations related to the sustainability compliance programs, perform compliance assessments, prepare work papers, work with a wide variety of functional departments (including Operations, Project Development, and third-party auditors) and manage multiple assignments.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinating facility registration updates related to RNG and LFGTE production. Primary responsibilities will be in Renewable Fuel Standards program. May also assist with the California Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS), the European International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC), and other crediting programs.
  • Coordinate internally among departments to ensure needs of crediting programs are being met. This includes tracking construction progress for new facilities, identifying and tracking process changes at existing facilities, and coordinating between departments to gather various information.
  • Performs reviews of processes, procedures, and regulatory reports to assure alignment with regulatory guidance. Performs regulatory research. Contribute to internal team discussions and determine where regulatory changes may impact operations. Assist with communicating impacts of regulatory changes and educating other Archaea internal teams of such changes.
  • Assists compliance team with compliance program development, implementation and management, training program materials and management
  • Assist with recordkeeping requirements for RFS
  • May assist with and manage paperwork and provide audit support related to RNG and eRIN production. Review, organize, interpret, and carefully analyze data, documents, reports, and other information for compliance with applicable regulations, 3rd party audit protocols, and EPA requirements for facility engineering reviews.
  • Assist with compiling and submitting reports to regulatory agencies (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual)
  • Gain and maintain knowledge regarding state, federal, and international renewable and low carbon fuels programs
  • Follow, update, and create workflows and templates whenever required
  • Perform others regulatory compliance support duties as assigned
  • Manage personal workload and competing priorities to meet established deadlines for audit reports, engineering review reports, and other regulatory filings
  • Seek assistance proactively from teammates to clarify procedural knowledge or request assistance, and respond to requests from others in a positive and timely manner
  • Assists with the preparation of client meeting presentations.
  • Will require some limited travel to gas processing facilities across the United States to familiarize position with facilities.

Desired experience

· Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or environmental science with experience in environmental compliance/regulation. 3-5 years experience or direct RFS experience related work

· Exposure to oil and gas industry or experience in energy compliance and fuels regulations preferred.

· Basic understanding of accounting standards desired but not required

· Technical writing and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.

· Proficiency with Office tools, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel

· Detail-oriented, experience with quantitative analysis skills.

· Team orientation and strong interpersonal skills. This position must be able to effectively work with every department in the company, from Operations to Accounting to Engineering.

· Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fluid working environment.

· Critical thinking skills, project, and time management skills.

· Dedication, positive attitude, and willingness to contribute to the team.

· Exhibits good judgment, decision making and problem-solving skills.
