POSITION SUMMARY

The Garden Center Delivery Driver is an integral part of our Garden Center. The primary responsibility is the delivery of bulk material and/or plant purchases made by our customers. Some weekly/bi-weekly facility and grounds maintenance are required as well as small planting projects. This is a part-time, hourly position.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & SKILLS

• Communicate with customers and provide assistance
• Assist with weekly/biweekly Garden Center grounds maintenance and upkeep
• Complete vehicle function and safety checklists at the start of every shift; report any issues to the Fleet Manager
• Fill out and process all necessary paperwork, timesheets, travel logs, etc.
• Prepare vehicles and equipment for the day
• Operate equipment properly and safely
• Ability to load, secure for transport, transport safely, deliver, and unload all equipment and materials
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma
• Customer service and/or retail experience preferred
• Bobcat operation experience or willingness to learn required
• Pass a pre-employment and ongoing random drug tests
• Possess a valid driver’s license and must be insurable on company’s insurance policy
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must maintain regular and reliable attendance
• Exposed to exterior elements (i.e. pollen, chemicals, cold and heat, etc.)
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Requires extended periods of activity (walking, sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting)

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Wage starting at $13.50, based on experience
