Position Announcement for Deputy Chief of Training

The DEPUTY CHIEF OF TRAINING shall be second in command of the District and

shall outrank all subordinate Officers in the chain-of-command. The Deputy Chief of

Training shall assume direct command of the District in the absence of the Chief, as

Acting Chief.

Shall be responsible for Training, Mapping, Routine Vehicle Maintenance, Supplies, Hose,

Hydrants, Safety, Fire Prevention Inspection Program, and any other programs incidental to the

operations of the District.

Applicants must have ten (10) years of experience in the fire service or combined fire and emergency medical service and five of those years in a supervisory role.

Preferred requirements are IFSAC or Pro Board Certifications as Firefighter 1 & 2, Officer 2, Instructor 2, Fire Investigator, 1403 Live Fire Instructor, Fire Inspector and, State Licensed EMT-B. Training requirements shall also include NIMS level 300 and 400.

Minimum requirements are IFSAC or Pro Board Certifications as Firefighter 1&2, Officer 1, Instructor 1, and either Fire Investigator or 1403 Live Fire Instructor, and State Licensed EMT-B. Training requirements shall also include NIMS level 200.

Consideration will be given for certifications and licenses above the minimum requirements in other disciplines as well as Post High School course work and management experience outside of Emergency Services.

Starting salary is based on experience and education. Benefit package includes health, dental, vision and life insurance provided, earned time off, and retirement program.
