Job Summary and Qualifications

As Director of Construction Management at our facility you will have the opportunity to be both an expert in your field and leader of an impressive team that prides themselves on keeping our hospital functioning safely with successful project completion. Every role has an impact on our patients’ lives and you have the opportunity to make a difference. In this role:

• You will arrange, direct/assist all required local, JCAHO and AHCA inspections. Provides needed project documents for all inspections. Corrects all, if any, citations/recommendations immediately, if possible. Schedule inspections to comply with construction progress. Maintain documentation related to all inspection activities.
• You will coordinate bidding, negotiations and contract execution.
• You will coordinate construction schedules. Work with Director to coordinate completion around the provision of patient care and hospital operations. Meets with Department Directors/Managers to determine scheduling of projects in their areas. Meets regularly with all contractors and their foremen to provide future scheduling and correct any existing problems.
• You will coordinate hospital’s use of all professionals needed to complete projects. Plans all architectural and engineering design phases. Supervises and participates in project design development and preparation of construction documents. Supervises submission and approval of all necessary plans/documents with various state and local AHJ’s.
• You will identify potential operational problems and briefs DFM and COO on findings and solutions.
• You will maintain comprehensive documentation for all construction projects.
• You will participate in planning and design of all designated projects. Work closely with Administration, architects, engineers and contractors to develop plans, documents, schedules, and budgets that will meet the hospital’s operational demands and budgetary parameters. Meets regularly with project engineers to ensure that project is in compliance with local, state and national codes.
• You will respond to changing work expectations by altering goals, objectives and reprioritizing as necessary to meet new expectations.
  

What qualifications you will need:

• Master Electrician or Master Plumber
• Master Electrician or Master Plumber
• Undergraduate degree Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical), Architecture, or Construction Management preferred.
• 5 years of construction management preferred.
• Must demonstrate knowledge of International Building Code, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) criteria, and Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA).
• American Society of Hospital Engineers (ASHE) preferred.

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
