The Town of Holliston seeks a full-time (Drug Free Communities) Coalition Coordinator. This position will implement the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Drug Free Communities Grant Program in partnership with Holliston Drug and Alcohol Awareness Coalition (HDAAC). The Drug Free Communities (DFC) Coalition Coordinator is responsible for overseeing, planning, developing & providing oversight of the Drug Free Communities program. This includes developing strong community support and collaborative partnerships with other agencies. The DFC Coalition Coordinator will facilitate the planning and implementation of community prevention strategies in support of HDAACs mission. This position is a grant funded position of 5 years, with the possibility of renewal at that time. It is a 40 hour a week position, Grade 500 as an Outreach Coordinator, steps 8-13 at $30.37/hr - $34.81/hr ($64,874 - $72,683 annually).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in prevention work, health promotion, public health, social work, or any related field;
- Ability to organize, coordinate and collaborate with cross-sector community coalitions and diverse populations.
- Ability and proven experience in maintaining positive, effective collaborations and partnerships with a wide variety of individuals including youth agencies, business and faith communities, boards, and fellow workers.
- Sensitivity to the needs of individuals and groups from a variety of backgrounds and beliefs.
- Possess knowledge and experience in Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug Prevention.
- Demonstrate communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and ability to self direct
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in prevention work, health promotion, public health, social work, or any related field required, Master’s preferred.
- Have a history of working with a teenage population preferred.
- Experience with coalition work, community organizing, program development, substance use disorder, behavioral health, or work in the human service field preferred.
- Grant writing and fiscal management experience preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License and insured vehicle available for use on the job or acceptable alternative.
- Massachusetts Prevention Specialist Certification or obtain within the first (2) years of hire.
