UPM Raflatac is currently looking for an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team in Vancouver, Washington.
What you will do:
  • Troubleshoot automation, electrical and mechanical equipment problems during breakdowns and implement corrective/predictive/preventive measures to eliminate equipment problems and improve work practices.
  • Monitor PLC systems and participate in new equipment installations, upgrades and modifications.
  • Participate in reliability centered maintenance program to optimize efficiency and production flow.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation of condition monitoring, work performed, parts used, follow-up needed, as related to equipment maintenance.
  • Maintain and improve appropriate housekeeping standards in all work areas and maintain local storeroom and ensure accurate inventory of spare parts.
  • Coordinate, communicate and oversee local contractors as required and support service agreement negotiations for machines and machine elements.
  • Prioritize assigned work in coordination with Operations Leadership Team.
  • Perform all duties in full compliance of all laws, safety and environmental regulations, and in a manner consistent with company policies and procedures.
Who you are:
  • You have any combination of education and experience equivalent to an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation, or related discipline and 5–10 years responsible multi-craft maintenance in an industrial environment, with primary expertise in electrical/automation maintenance. Experience in paper or paper converting industry preferred.
  • You have knowledge of National Electric Code and relevant OSHA requirements desired.
  • You have a good understanding of electrical hardware diagrams and electrical symbols for both European and US Standard styles strongly desired.
  • You Read and interpret Electrical Drawings and prints.
  • You must have a basic understanding of mechanical components used and the effective maintenance of a wide range of equipment, including highly automated, technologically advanced machinery.
  • You have a good understanding and practical experience of PLC systems (preferably Siemens S7 and Allen Bradley).
  • You understand pneumatic and hydraulic systems and have the ability to troubleshoot issues that involve these systems.
  • You troubleshoot and repair Process Control Systems
  • You have practical experience with CMMS and AutoCAD preferred. Background in pneumatic and hydraulic systems desired.
  • You must have excellent communication skills and the ability to relate well to a wide range of constituents.
  • You must have well-developed problem-solving skills, the ability to adapt quickly to changing demands and can work well independently as well as function as a member of a team.
