We are seeking an experienced full-time Medical Assistant to travel between multiple practices in the Dallas area (Addison, N. Dallas, Irving, Richardson, Mesquite, Frisco, Little Elm, Rockwall, Waxahachie, and Grapevine) as needed to provide coverage on a weekly basis. The ideal candidate will be confident in both front and back-office roles, comfortable working in different practice settings each week, and enjoys local travel.

This position handles a variety of patient care activities including, but not limited to, accompanying patients to exam rooms, taking vitals, collecting patient history, administering injections and immunizations, assisting with procedures, prescription refills, and patient callbacks.
Responsibilities include:

  • Rooming patients, taking vitals and collecting patient histories
  • Assisting in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of the providers
  • Updating and filing patients’ medical records
  • Relaying instructions to patients/families
  • Administering injections and vaccinations
  • Cleaning exam/procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control
  • Restocking exam/procedure rooms
  • Prescription refills
  • Patient call-backs
  • Front desk duties: greeting and checking in patients; scheduling appointments; answering phones and screening and directing calls; obtaining sufficient information for billing; verifying insurance; calculating patient financial responsibility, and collecting on patients balances and receiving co-pays
  • Utilizes and enters data into EMR systems
  • Providing clerical and administrative support at our corporate office in Dallas (635 and Abrams) between practice assignments

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalency required.
  • A Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program required
  • Two years experience as a Medical Assistant (front and back office) required
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • EMR experience also required; E-Clinical Works preferred
  • NCT preferred but not required
  • Phlebotomy skills preferred but not required
  • BLS, CPR, First Aid, and other certifications required of the positions
  • Willing and able to travel to an assigned location using a personal vehicle required
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver license, and proof of Texas minimum vehicle liability insurance coverage required

Schedule: Full-Time Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. No weekends or after hours.
