Objectives of the Position

• As a full member of the global communications team of BASF’s Intermediates (CI) Division, lead the social media (SM) activities globally for the business, by professionalizing and further developing existing SM activities and unfolding new opportunities, while always keeping in view BASF’s overall brand activities and guidelines.
• Given this position will be based in our Kuala Lumpur Hub and will report to the Head of Communications Services in the hub, but support the CI business dedicatedly, utilize the unique position to bring in new ideas, learnings, and views, from the hub team to the CI team, to foster cross collaboration and best practice sharing.

Main Tasks

• Development and execution of concepts/strategies for biz support through SM activities, based on the general CI communication concepts
• Implementation of ongoing communication topics in SM, including paid SM campaigns
• Responsible for hosting existing LinkedIN accounts (BASF Chem Intermediates, OASE Gas treatment), with the target to improve scope, impact and target group orientation
• Collaboration and alignment with Corp Com units (EU, NA, AP) responsible for the SM guidelines and governance
• Development and execution of a comprehensive and fast communication monitoring system related to CI’s SM activities, targeting continuous improvement
• Visual implementation/realization of SM activities by using own distinctive existing graphic skills and tools (photoshop, InDesign, Camtasia etc) for animations, video clips, photo-based layouts
• Supporting with distinctive skills related to virtual team meetings, team buildings, etc
• Overseeing online communication channels during a crisis
• Building monitoring as well as transparent and reliable measurement mechanisms for evaluating ROI

Requirements

Education

• University degree in communication or another related field

Working Experience

• 5 – 7 years working experience in corporate communications or online/digital communications ideally including working in a multinational company and/or PR agency.
• Working experience in roles specializing in digital activities in line with brand guidelines will be an added advantage.

Technical & Professional Knowledge

• Excellent command of English in spoken and written form.
• Native team player able to develop strong working relationships with stakeholders.
• Experience in managing content on online and digital platforms and production for intranet and website.
• Attention to detail, creative drive and results orientated
