Description of Job Duties

As an HDD locator at Anchor Utility the expectation is for you to be knowledgeable and proficient with the safe and correct operation of all equipment including locating equipment, hydro vacs, core drills, hand tools, and vehicles to perform your daily company duties of Utility Installation and Construction including but not limited to locating utilities, hand digging, general labor, arial, horizontal directional drilling, trenching, plowing . You will be responsible for the completion of required safety/vehicle/equipment inspections daily as well as maintenance and reporting relating to all company vehicles and equipment assigned to you and your crew. Additionally, you will be responsible for the work needed to complete the daily tasks as defined by your foreman in a safe and efficient manner, while maintaining the high principals, work ethics and culture of an Anchor Utility employee. We require participation in the E-Verify program, drug screening, and background check.

CDL preferred but not required.

Driver license with clean driving record. Reliable transportation.

Below is a brief listing of an operator’s responsibilities, this is meant as a guide and does not necessarily encompass all responsibilities on all sites every day.

1) DJTA or JSA

2) Vehicle and Equipment inspections

3) Site walk and evaluation with foreman

4) Safe operation of vehicles and equipment to complete the day’s tasks safely, productively, and efficiently.

5) Verification of proper potholing/day lighting of existing facilities and utilities in the work area.

6) Daily record keeping as required for the job site

7) Maintenance, cleaning and function of vehicles and equipment.

8) Accurate time and production reporting.

9) Reporting to Management of any job site, equipment or personnel incidents, damages, or injuries.

10) Adherence to all Anchor Utility policies and procedures.

11) Responsible to ensure all required/needed PPE is on site and being utilized by all employees.

12) Utility Installation and Construction including but not limited to arial, horizontal directional drilling, trenching, plowing.

13) Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

  • 10 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime
