Job description

The Missouri State Public Defender System is accepting applications for a Legal Assistant in the Bolivar office. Individual will assist attorneys with client intake interviews and case preparation. Duties will also include locating/copying discovery materials; organizing and summarizing client files; contacting/interviewing clients and witnesses; preparing reports and serving subpoenas; conducting limited legal research; and assisting attorneys in court and with other tasks.

Qualifications: Education equivalent to graduation from high school and three years of experience in office or related clerical work. Legal experience preferred.

Salary is $2,934 per month plus generous State of Missouri benefits.
