    Position Title: In-School Suspension Monitor

    Job Classification: Non-Exempt

    Union Classification: Support Staff

    Terms of Employment: 191 days per year

    Qualifications:

    • Strong student interaction and conflict mediation skills
    • Previous At-Risk or In-School suspension experience
    • Able to work collaboratively with the school administration to develop and implement programs for At-Risk students
    • Must have NH para II certification or the ability to obtain

    Reports To: Assistant Principal

    Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Agreement between the FMRSD and the Fall Mountain Regional Educational Support Personnel Association.

    Job Goals:

    To support the Assistant Principal in the area of student support and discipline through the supervision of students assigned to the In-School Suspension room.

    Performance Responsibilities:

    • Monitor In-School Suspension with fair, firm and consistent discipline.
    • Demonstrate the ability to communicate with young people.
    • Request work for students assigned to the ISS room for the day.
    • Assist students with school assignments.
    • Make daily phone calls to families when students are listed as absent.
    • Work with school office and school counseling personnel to support students
    • Substitute in available positions when the ISS room is not in use.
    • Report any disciplinary matters to the Assistant Principal.
    • Performs other related duties and/or responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
    Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. The employee will occasionally be required to stand, walk, bend and reach. The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 15 pounds. Must be able to hear, talk and see.
