Position Description:
This is a high profile and challenging position supporting US Navy acquisition of Naval Weapon Systems. This great opportunity will allow you to take a leadership role in supporting U.S. Navy Weapon System production for our ships and sailors. Join an integrated government-industry team in Arlington, VA to provide technical expertise to management of production material and processes for high tech systems. Active DoD Secret clearance required to be considered for this role.

Serco will provide technical support to its customer, a defense acquisition program management office which is responsible for the development, acquisition, production, fielding, and lifetime support of surface ship missile systems. This mid-to-senior-level position has aspects of defense acquisition production management, systems engineering, and other related skills. This position provides technical and administrative support in the areas of missile production, engineering, acquisition, and contracts. Supports the government oversight of missile production, configuration management, and system engineering activities, and other production-related tasking to support the government Production Director. Provides support in the development of risks and risk mitigation plans.

In this role you will:
  • Assist the government Production Manager in maintaining cognizance over production materials, processes, and technical issues.
  • Work with the missile prime contractor, government field activities, and the technical team in achieving production requirements and helping identify potential shortfalls.
  • Maintain production schedules. Oversee the transition of assigned development projects into production. Track production rates and quantities.
  • Serve as technical member on production-related technical reviews and panels.
  • Analyze technical requirements, acquisition documents, and system engineering tasking to develop recommendations and report status.
  • Review, analyze, and recommend the implementation of improvements into the production process for the purpose of achieving the requirements at the lowest overall cost.
  • Coordinate with acquisition team to assist in technical review of statements of work, CDRLs, and other contractual related actions.
  • Maintain the master schedule of production and sustainment test equipment and upgrade plans and ensure alignment between acquisition programs.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Currently a Hybrid role with some work required to be completed in office.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field and seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience in Defense Acquisition, Naval Weapon Systems, Acquisition program office, or related industry experience.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance required with the ability to maintain per contract requirements.
  • Excellent organizational, internal team communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project.
  • Experience with MS Office 365 collaborative tools such as SharePoint and Teams, and familiarity with data visualization tools.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • 25% travel required for this role.
Additional desired experience and skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline desired.
  • Work experience may be adjusted based on an advanced degree. Degree requirements may be adjusted based on additional related experience, highly specialized knowledge, or uniquely applicable experience.
  • Experience in Naval missile systems desired.
  • Experience in Naval System production and sustainment desired.
