Job description
We are currently seeking a Union Operating Engineer (Local 94) to support our client HSBC Bank in New York, NY. There are 4 critical facilities in one centralized area.
In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment, machinery, and related controls and components at our client's facility. You will work with package units, dry coolers, crack units, and VAV controls, and perform basic plumbing and electrical work. You will have a basic understanding of generators, UPS systems, and the cruciality of a data center. Fire system knowledge is a plus!
The schedule is Sunday 4p-12a, Monday 4p-12a, Tuesday off, Wednesday off, Thursday 12a-8a, Friday 12a-8a, Saturday 8a-4p.
The pay is $48.39/HR and on Saturdays and Sundays $72.58/HR.

Here is some of what your day will look like:
- Control the daily operation of all mechanical equipment in the physical plant and buildings, and always comply with policies and procedures
- Perform maintenance and repairs to the Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Furniture, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems for the facility to keep these systems up to applicable standards.
- Monitor and maintain responsibility for tenant services, preventative maintenance, purchasing and inventory control, contracted maintenance, general maintenance, and technical proficiency.
- Monitor the operation and maintain refrigeration, water cooling and air conditioning equipment, heating, ventilating, and hot water equipment, pumps, valves, piping and filters, and other mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Perform and complete all tenant service requests and preventative maintenance tasks accurately and expediently
- Be able to evaluate building systems to monitor and improve performance to operate efficiently
- Monitor the quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by outside contractors
Who should apply?

- A Universal CFC
- An FDNY Refrigerant Engineer certificate
- 4+ years of experience in HVAC, basic electrical and plumbing, data center, and backup systems
- Critical environment experience
